The Interior Garden explores the riches of the inner life through seven poetic soundscapes. Inspired by the Haft awrang (Seven Thrones/Constellation of the Great Bear), a 15th century, Persian-language compendium of Sufi poetry by the scholar and poet Jami (d. 1492), The Interior Garden is a metaphor for the spirit — its recitations and sound art invite the visitor to explore questions of ‘interiority’, ‘ethics’, and ‘knowledge’, provoke the senses, and induce moments of repose, contemplation and reflection.
The Interior Garden is a part of the Reflections program for the PAN AM flame ceremony that was held at Aga Khan Park, Aga Khan Museum and the Ismaili Centre, Toronto, on July 5, 2015 from 4pm-10pm. Please visit the Aga Khan Park website for more information on the events of July 5: AGA KHAN PARK
